Come and join us for our Fourth of July Stars & Stripes 5K/1Mile Walk & Rocket Kids Run hosted by Richland County Recreation Commission on Saturday, July 3, 2021 from 8:00 am-11:30 am at Caughman Road Park. Our event is free but we will be taking donations to support our Richland County Recreation Foundation. Participants of the 5K who donate $10.00 or more will receive a swag bag, t-shirt and will be able to receive a finishers medals or charm based upon qualifying times.
The 5K race is open to participants ages 8 and up and children ages 8-17 years for the Rocket Kids Run. The 1 Mile Walk is open for all ages. For more information, please contact Octavia Morgan at octavia@rcrc.state.sc.us.
All participants will sign a waiver adhering to RCRC's COVID-19 safety guidelines and pre-cautions of social distancing and wearing masks. 5K runners will be going out in different heats, 30-60 seconds apart to reduce clustering and individuals grouping together during the run.

7:15 am-7:55 am-Registrations, Packet pick-up, Warm-up (individually)
7:55 am-Kids Fun Run (1 Mile) Begins
8:00 am-5K Participants come to the start/finish line to receive instructions
8:10 am-1 Mile Walk Begins (same route as Kids Fun Run)
8:25 am-9:30 am-Runners begin to cross finish line at various times
9:45 am-Receiving & Announcing Timing Results of Overall Runners and Age Groups
10:00 am-Closing remarks and conclusion of event
Finisher Medals will be awarded by the following age groups:
Top 3 Males and Females will receive either a Finisher medal (for first time medal holders) or a race charm for 5K Run Awards
10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 & Over
